Job Summary

This position is responsible for analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and profitability of a complete line of mortgage products. Responsibilities include providing and reporting on metrics and performance analysis relative to other industry competitor performance to Executive leadership, as well as providing solutions for acquiring additional market share and increase productivity.


Essential Functions

  • Analyze internal and external loan product performance (including performance ratios) of varying quality to develop initial assessment of product offerings strengths/weaknesses to loan products
  • Conduct research, prepare reports, and analyze credit performance on credit risk trends, portfolio reviews, economic forecasts, etc.
  • Identifies and evaluates portfolio trends with respect to delinquency, bankruptcy, demographic and other factors
  • Reports trends and/or makes suggestions for changes
  • Makes recommendations for changes/updates/revisions to policy content
  • Prepare executive summary reviews with relevant supporting analysis
  • Creates write-ups for presentation to individual lenders and/or management
  • May participate in and/or lead lending or other related projects as needed
  • Provide analytical and administrative support as necessary for Operations leadership
  • Maintain education on current market/industry issues for risk potential and areas for improvement
  • Coordinate accurate and timely resolution of identified risk areas with senior leadership
  • Ensure business compliance with regulations, company policies and lender expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in operational risk management
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Mortgage industry
  • Previous regulatory, financial analysis and credit review experience required
  • Demonstrated advanced spreadsheet modeling, data analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Knowledge of finance, statistics, economics and consumer credit
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with technical systems, rational datasets, data warehouses, data mining
  • Advanced skills with SAS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn additional programs as required.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating sophisticated, executive level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience directly related to executive level communication
  • Highly organized, adaptable and possess strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments within the organization
